The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology plays a pivotal role in enhancing maternal and child health outcomes across Southern Tamilnadu.
Through a multidisciplinary approach, our Obstetrics team expertly manages highly complicated deliveries, serving as a vital referral center for various districts.
The dedicated effort has directly contributed to saving mother lives and has been instrumental in significantly reducing the maternal mortality Rate (MMR) in the region bringing closer to achieving the 2030 MMR reduction targets.
LEGACY:
The Obstetrics and Gynaecology department was started under the head of Dr. A.K.Joseph and was succeeded by eminent professors who made their footprint in the history of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the following fields of interest.
